“The Constant” is a studio recording of a very personal story I wrote about my childhood, edited together with a live recording of my music from "Under the Sheets," a show I co-created and performed in sequentially with Pat McMaster (left) for the 2019 St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival.
In the original show, I told the story first, and then followed it with a live improvised interpretation of the story on electrified-acoustic violin, grounded in a loosely-planned structure.
This hybrid reflects a more recent project, “You’re Not Alone: Music and Stories about Solitude,” in which I perform stories and music simultaneously using the magic of Ableton Live. The project was generously funded by the Canada Council for the Arts.
